Biography
Life is hard. You feel like you've just conquered one challenge and can finally rest only to realize that there are more challenges ahead. It feels overwhelming, helpless, and hopeless. No matter how hard you try, no matter how much work you put into making life feel balanced, it just doesn't seem to stick. You have moments of greatness where life feels fulfilling, and where you say "I've got this". But those moments are becoming less frequent and don't last as long as they used to. You're not sure if the problems are just getting bigger or if you're not as energetic as you once were. Either way, life just doesn't feel right anymore.
I am here to help you with that. I am here to support you in your journey through life and help you make sense of it all. My approach is warm, genuine, compassionate and collaborative. Our conversations will feel like talking to an old friend rather than a stale uninviting doctor's visit. We will talk about your successes and your challenges, drawing on what works for you already in your life and building on that., I am here to support you and walk alongside you as we navigate life's obstacles together. Throughout our time together, I will offer you new ways of coping and decide what works for your life and what doesn't. I might be the person with the education in mental health, but you are the person with the most experience with your life.
I utilize various methods and tailor my approach to develop a custom plan that is specific to your needs and life situation. I am skilled in DBT, CBT, Psychodynamic therapy, Gestalt therapy and Solution-focused therapy. I specialize in treating teens and adults with anxiety, perinatal/postpartum anxiety/depression, eating disorders, trauma and attachment issues.
